I am 28 weeks today and had a doctor's appointment this morning. They took blood for the glucose screening test, so I'm praying that comes back ok. They also scheduled my c-section for November 17 at 9:30am. I'm hoping she'll stay put until then! Her heartbeat was in the 130's and sounded great. I never get tired of hearing that sound. And she has been moving this past week a lot! My belly has started to move when she kicks which is really cool.
Here's my belly shot today:
I've only gained 19 pounds so far, so hopefully I will only gain around 30 lbs total, much better than the 50 pounds I gained with Davis!!

Ponies, Monkeys, and Cupcakes, Oh MY!
Last Friday, the engineering firm where I work at had its annual outing at Frankie's Fun Park in Raleigh. Greg was in California, so I was a bit nervous about handling wild man all by myself. Turns out we had a great time! Here's Davis with my friend Heather's family. Heather's husband, Ronnie, won Davis over immediately when he picked him up and launched him into the sky!
Davis and I played putt-putt together. We actually got through all 18 holes! Davis was cracking me up because at each hole, he would putt, then after he was done and as I was putting my ball down to putt, he would run back onto the green and scream, "here's the hole, mommy, here's the hole!", as he pointed to it with his putter. Too cute. We had a fun time!
As we were leaving, Davis couldn't help but climb up on this Harley and pretend to ride it. I love how small he looks on it!
On Saturday, we went to my friend Brooke's daughter's birthday party. They had a pony there for the kids to ride, and Davis actually rode it! It's his first pony ride.
After we got back from the party, I put Davis in his room for naptime. He wasn't ready to go to sleep yet, so I told him to have quiet time. When I went back to check on him, this is how I found him. In full monkey costume. And to top it off, he was sleeping on his monkey sheets and put his curious george socks on. I swear he must be part monkey.
On Sunday, I thought it would be fun to make cupcakes after Davis's nap. I put Greg's apron on him and he was a big help. Of course he wanted to lick his fingers after mixing the batter and I kept thinking he would get salmonella poisoning from the raw eggs. Of course, he was fine and the cupcakes were delicious!!

Perfect Weekend
We had such a great and productive weekend! Davis and I went down to visit one of my best friends from college, Patricia (well, Patrice as I so lovingly call her!). Her girls, Vivian and Jacqueline, are precious and Davis got in touch with his feminine side for sure! Here's a picture of Davis playing with Jacqueline:
At least he's getting some practice so he'll be ready for Gracie!! Patrice and I had so much fun catching up. It's been a while since we've seen each other and so much has changed in both of our lives, but we picked up right where we left off. I'm so thankful for girlfriends like Patrice. We don't have to work at it, we laugh a lot, and we'll always have each other in our lives no matter where the road takes us.
On Sunday, we met our other good friend from college, Stephanie, for brunch. I hadn't seen Steph for a while either, but we picked up right where we left off as well. We laughed a lot, and got caught up on all of her exciting news. She's getting married in April, and I couldn't be more happy for her. She's met a wonderful man, James, and I know they're going to build such an amazing life and family together.
While I was gone, Greg was busy painting Grace's room and he sent me this picture Saturday night when he was done.
I love it and of course couldn't wait to get home and see it! Well, imagine my surprise when I got home and all of the furniture was assembled and in the room. I started crying and hugged my wonderful husband!! He had worked so hard to get his baby girl's room ready for Davis and I to see. And no, I'm not going to post any pictures until we're all done, hopefully in the next few weeks. I have to get some wall art to put up, a side table, lamp, and wash/iron the bedding. After that, it will be ready for our sweet girl's arrival!!
